Gabor Veto stops Perparim Hajdini on Klitschko-undercard!

Varpalotan hometown hero Gabor Veto (3-0, 3 Kos) outclassed Perparim Hajdini (1-1) in winning an impressive second round TKO in a lightweight clash on the undercard of WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko’s title defence against Juan Carlos Gomez on Saturday night at the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle in Stuttgart, Germany.

This was Veto’s first bout in front of such a large crowd (12‘500 spectators) and the first real challenge for the former member of Hungarian amateur national team. 

The opponent Perparim Hajdini from Albania won his pro debut against former Russian vice-amateur-champion Sergej Bykov and then had a no-decision against the  IBF World Youth Champion Ali Chusseinov .

Veto was in command the whole way and broke Hajdini methodically down, Hajdini an ex-featherweight Albanian amateur champion, was no match for Veto who landed  some good punches in a dominant round one. 

In the second round Veto landed several power shots to the head and body of the Albanian. Hajdini’s face was bloodied in the second round and the fight was waved off by referee Herbert Urich.

Veto said after the fight “I am happy that I could win also my third professional-fight by the way of knockout. It is very special and makes me proud to fight in such a big arena in a Klitschko-event with so many famous people of the boxing-business.”  

Veto was called after his fight and congratulated by one of his favorite boxers in Koko Kovacs.

Optimum Sports Agency have plans to bring Veto to the US to fight in September, where he will be based out of Gleason’s Gym in New York. Manager Oliver Duetschler said that Veto’s first fight in his home country is scheduled in Varpalota on July 25th, 2009.
