Formula 1 racer Massa better, leaving ICU
Budapest - Brazilian Formula 1 driver Felipe Massa, who was severely injured during time trials at the Hungarian Grand Prix, has regained his ability to speak and has also got out of bed and taken a few steps on his own, www.ferrari.com reported on Wednesday.
The web-page also said that Massa would be discharged from the intensive care unit of Budapest's State Health Centre, where he has been treated since his injury, later in the day.
Massa suffered a fractured skull after a loose part from the car of Brazilian driver Rubens Barrichello struck his helmet on Saturday afternoon.
He was brought to the track's medical centre, then taken by helicopter to the Budapest hospital where he underwent surgery.
