Local residents forced to flee homes after bomb discovery

Budapest - Around 500 residents of one of Budapest's outer districts were told by police on Tuesday to leave their homes while bomb disposal experts dealt with what is thought to be a WWII explosive.

Elderly residents of the 16th district were being escorted to a doctors' surgery while children and pregnant women were taken to a local nursery, a police spokesperson said.
    
Police have closed off Ujszasz street and the intersection of Pilota and Dios Lajos streets due to the bomb, which was found by construction workers.
